‘MylifE Skateboarding’ Program
Skateboarding is an individual sport that does not rely on a team for an individual to excel in this sport. It requires great discipline and motivation to succeed in this sport therefore it will help build confidence, patience, concentration and self respect amongst themselves and their peers.
The Mylife Skateboard project is a new initiative that looks to exist in both the inner-city and outer-city. The proposed structure of this program includes the formation of both training and local competitions as well as ramp building workshops. The competitions will be held bi-monthly on the last Saturday of the month. The competition will take place at various mini skate-parks that we will be setup in certain areas. There will be prizes (skateboarding apparel, equipment and sticker packs) that will be sponsored for each competition. The competitions will be broken up into beginner, intermediate and advanced and only the skateboarders attending the Mylife Skateboard program will be allowed to enter. There will be one big contest held annually at the main skate park (still to be decided, depending on size of area available) which will allow our trained athletes to compete against other skateboarders in South Africa.
